The eruption has matured, as the geologists say. It has gone from being a continuous eruption along the whole fissure, to six sites or craters along the fissure and the rest of the fissure has closed.

The flow of magma or lava has thus become a bit less than it was at the beginning.

This trend follows what has happened in previous eruptions, so everyone concerned thinks the worst is over.
